Acorn

I finished another pair of socks this past week and I really love them.

This is the first pair of socks I have made from The Knitter's Curiosity Cabinet Vol. I. I enjoyed knitting these socks and the pattern was interesting and fun to do. I would not recommend this book to a beginner. You should know some basic sock construction before using the patterns in the book, they are nicely written but a little confusing sometimes.

New Sock Yarn

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

I was gifted some more sock yarn this past week and I am pretty excited to work with it.
 Malabrigo Sock in Impressionist Sky

An unknown sock yarn that I thought was Estelle Yarns's Sockittome Impulse but I am no longer sure about that after looking at the colours they have and two balls of Patons Kroy Socks in Kool Stripes.

I also was gifted an extra-small, small and large sock blocker. from Burning Impressions.

Beer Mitt

My sister's boyfriend asked if I could make him a beer mitt. When I looked on Ravelry I found the perfect pattern (and it was free!).

 Beer Mitt:
Yarn: Berroco Ultra Alpaca Chunky in Pitch Black
Needle Size: US 9 (5.5mm) DPNs
Pattern Source: Beer Mitt (free pattern!)

This was a quick knit that will be a perfect birthday present!

Take 2 on a pair of socks!

I have tried to make these socks in the past, but the yarn and the pattern did not match up. I knew I wanted to have another go at them when I found the right yarn, and I think I made the right choice!

The Boyfriend's Socks

I finished knitting these socks for the boyfriend (finally!). I have only been knitting these when I have been out; at the doctor's office or on the train, so they took me a while to make.

The Boyfriend's Socks:
Yarn: Willow Quest in Poison Dart Frog
Needle Size: US 1 (2.25mm)
Pattern Source: Aramis by Caoua Coffee (free Ravelry download)

I gave them these as a present for our 9th anniversary. He really likes my knitted socks and I thought these would be a nice, thoughtful gift.

This pattern was great and had some interesting details added to it (like the purled stitches at the cuff).  It worked great for this yarn and they are the perfect size for the boyfriend's feet.
