It's finished

I love the  Wool and the Gang pullover that I finished this week. It did not take me long to knit it, and it is a perfect layering piece for the cool spring weather we have been having.

Stripy Coco Mariniere:
Yarn: Wool and the Gang's Shiny Happy Cotton in Jog Grey and Golden Yellow
Needles: US 11 (8.0 mm)
Pattern Source: Stripy Coco Mariniere kit

I am so happy that I won this from One Sheepish Girl. This is not something I would normally knit, and I am glad I got a chance to try something new.

I need help...

I can't stop buying sock yarn. How am I supposed to stop buying yarn when they are so pretty?!?

When I visited my parents last weekend, my mom and I went into Tricotine & cie. It is a gorgeous yarn store with such a great selection that I could not resist buying this yarn. Couleurs Mouton's Kargil in Souris Rose.

Socks for Grandma

I made a pair of socks for my grand-mother as a birthday present.

Grandma's Green Socks:
Yarn: Knitca Socks in Jade
Needles: US 1 (2.25mm) DPNs
Pattern Source: Hedgerow Socks

The pattern for these socks is really simple and easy to memorize. It makes a really stretchy fabric that is perfect  when you are unsure of the size you need to make.

Baby Blanket WIP

Working on a baby blanket for my soon to be born niece/nephew. I am using the yarn from the Mary Maxim blanket kit from my previous post. I didn't want to use the pattern that came with it since it is crochet, and I want to knit, so instead I am using the Roshana Baby Blanket pattern.

I won! I won! I won!

I was so excited that I had won the contest from One Sheepish Girl for a kit from Wool and the Gang!
I chose the Stripy Coco Mariniere in Jog Grey and Golden Yellow.

I had so much fun opening this beautiful packaging:

I have already casted on for this project and I should be finished soon!

WIPs

Some socks that I am working on right now:
Grandma's Green Socks (yes I know! All I have left to do is graft the toe on this sock. I'll get around to it at some point!)
The Boyfriend's Socks (these seem to be taking forever but I don't knit them all the time: they are my portable project that are always in my purse)

Kaiso (this is my second time knitting this first sock - I had to frog it the first time because it was so small it wouldn't fit on my foot. I casted on again with an extra pattern repeat to make it big enough)

New stuff!

I made some exciting new purchases!

I don't know why it has taken me so long to purchase a yarn swift and ball winder, but now that I have them, I will never go back to rolling balls by hand!

Weaved

Another pair of socks completed from Sock Innovation. This is the ninth and (probably) last pair I will be making from the book. I do not often repeat sock patterns and I have made all of the designs I really like from the book (9 out of a total of 15 patterns isn't bad). The rest are cable patterns, and as I don't enjoy knitting cables I think I will skip them.

 9- Weaved:
Yarn:  Schoppel-Wolle Zauberball in Charisma
Needle Size: US 1 1/2 (2.5mm)
Pattern Source:  Rick from Sock Innovation

These socks turned out to be a pain to knit since the yarn was so splitty and kept curling in on itself. They turned out nice but I wouldn't use this yarn again.
