Three new projects

Since finishing a baby blanket (photos to come soon!) I have cast-on 3 projects. These are things that have been on my to-do list for a while, but I needed to finish that blanket before I did anything else.

In and Out Scarf - Made with Knit Picks Palette in Pistachio using the pattern Imaarat from Swatch Love. This is a lovely free pattern that has very clear instructions and knits up quickly.

Fall Shawl - The pattern for this shawl is the Lonely Tree Shawl by Sylvia Bo Bilvia's. This free Ravelry download is a great pattern, and I am loving it! I am using Berroco's Boboli Lace in the Venice colourway.

Super Stripes - I like to have a small project that I can take with me, and it usually ends up being a simple pair of socks. The pattern is Vanilla Latte Socks by Virginia Rose-Jeanes and it is a free Ravelry download. I don't know what the yarn is, it was gifted to me and it did not have a ball-band (it reminds me of  Estelle Yarns's Sockittome Impulse)

Dobby Socks

I made myself a pair of mismatched striped socks. I had no intention of trying to get the stripes to match up, it would have been hard to do, so instead I I called them my Dobby Socks! (Dobby is a character from Harry Potter that wears mismatched socks)

Dobby Socks:
Yarn: Patons Kroy Socks in Kool Stripes
Needle Size: US 1 1/2 (2.5mm) 9" circular needles
Pattern Source: Hermione's Everyday Socks by Erica Lueder (free Ravelry download)

The pattern repeat for these socks is really simple, I memorized it and was even able to knit the leg for the second sock during a short car ride (less than an hour). They fit really well and the colour changes don't interfere with the pattern.

Another Beer Mitt and WIPs

I have made another beer mitt. Since I knit up the first one, everyone wants one. This one is for the boyfriend.

Red Beer Mitt:
Yarn: Berroco Ultra Alpaca Chunky in Cardinal
Needle Size: US 9 (5.5mm) DPNs
Pattern Source: Beer Mitt (free pattern)

Here are some of the projects I am working on currently:

Started on a pair of Hermione's Everyday Socks with Patons Kroy Socks in Kool Stripes. I am calling these my Dobby Socks because I am going to make no effort to match up the stripes for the second sock.

I have been continuing to work on my Pure Wool Worsted Mystery Afghan KAL. I have now made at least one of each square, and I am working on completing the Pretty Pink squares.

Baby Socks

There are so many pregnant people around me recently so I wanted to whip up a few baby socks for presents. These socks are a really quick knit and they make the perfect little gift.
Baby Socks:
Yarn: Pink ones were made with leftover Knit Picks' Stroll Hand Painted Sock Yarn in Queen Anne Tonal and the blue ones are My First Regia in Kevin Color
Needle Size: US 2 (2.75mm) DPNs
Pattern Source:  Hunca Munca by Knitzi (free pattern)

This pattern actually has three different ways to make the socks, but I chose to do two: Rib & Twist and Eyelet.

I finished both pairs of socks in two days and I think they are a perfect last minute gift. They are just so cute!

Fern

My second pair of socks from The Knitter's Curiosity Cabinet Vol. I.

Fern:
Yarn: Knit Picks' Stroll Hand Painted Sock Yarn in Queen Anne Tonal
Needle Size: US 2 (2.75mm)

I had to block these pretty vigorously since they came out a little small. They fit over my heel but only just. Hopefully with blocking and wearing them they will stretch and fit better. If  I had known I would have made the larger size.

These were a quick knit and they look gorgeous with this yarn.
