Valentine's Day
Jason brought me to Niagara Falls for Valentine's Day and we had an amazing time. We got to see the falls covered in ice. The weather was nice and we had a lot of fun. If you've only seen the falls in the summer and you don't think it's worth going to in the winter, think again! It looks completely different and it's a breathtaking view, it almost doesn't even look real.
So for Valentine's day I decided to knit Jay something. I didn't want him seeing it before the day so I sneaked around knitting him a hat to surprise him with. It took me 2 weeks to finish it because I could only do it at work and at school. But I managed and what better place to take a picture of it then at Niagara Falls?
This hat was made with Vanna's Choice yarn by Lion Brand (I used the regular one and Vanna's Choice Baby). It's the same pattern as the Fall Knit hat from the Lion Brand website, but I made it with different colors.
CO 64 stitches with Black
Knit 4 rows
Switch to Fern Knit 12 rows
Switch to Little Boy Blue Knit 12 rows
Switch to White Knit 12 rows
Switch to Aqua Knit 12 rows (or until hat measures 9" from beginning)
Cut yarn leaving a long tail, thread tapestry needle through all the loops, pull together and seam the side. Weave in ends.
You can make the hat floppier by knitting more rows of each color you can also experiment using different colors.
Jason loves the hat and I don't think he's taken it off all weekend.
I've almost finished the surprise birthday present that I've been working on forever. It looks amazing, I just hope I'll be able to mail it out in time for the person to get it for their birthday.
